Empire Coffee Company
Empire Coffee was started in 2016 by two brothers who couldn't find a mobile coffee cart serving high-quality coffee in Christchurch. In 2019 we opened our first permanent site at the Riverside Market in the Central City.
Our beans are roasted by Heron Coffee Roasters and change depending on the coffee season. Our current offering is Balboa Cauca from Colombia for our milk-based coffee and San Ignacio Reserve from Peru for our black coffee. These coffees as well as a range of other filter coffees are available to purchase in retail bags from our Riverside store.
We grind our beans using Mythos One grinders. These give a consistent milling chamber temperature ensuring a constant dose and therefore a higher quality of espresso extraction. We also have an EK43 retail grinder for pour-over coffee at select events.
Our Riverside site uses a Victoria Arduino Black Eagle, the preferred coffee machine for top cafes around the world.
